New Presidium of AQPIDA
Dear members of AQPIDA,
this letter is to inform you that in the annual meeting of AQPIDA held at Luminy in October 2012 a new Presidium has been elected for 2013-2014:
- K.B. Sinha (President)
- A. Barhoumi (Vice-President and Secretary of AQPIDA)
- F. Fagnola (Treasurer)
The members attending the meeting expressed their gratitude to the previous Presidium for their excellent work over the years and wished a fruitful work to the new President and Secretary.

34th International Conference on Quantum Probability and Related Topics (QP34)
First Announcement

Steklov Mathematical Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences and Association for Quantum Probability and Infinite Dimensional Analysis organize the 34th International Conference on Quantum Probability and Related Topics QP34.
The Conference will take place in Steklov Mathematical Institute, Moscow, Russia, in the period September 16-20,2013.
Arriving day September 15, departure day September 21.
Website of Steklov Mathematical Institute:
http://www.mi.ras.ru/index.php?l=1 [1]
The conference continues a traditional series of yearly conferences on quantum probability and related topics. Conference topics include recent developments in quantum probability and quantum dynamics such as quantum Markov processes and semigroups, white noise calculus, quantum stochastic calculus, stochastic limit and applications to physics, quantum information theory, quantum control, Levy laplacians and associated processes, free probability, independences, Hilbert modules, non-commutative geometry, interacting Fock spaces, infinite dimensional Lie algebras, infinite dimensional analysis, quantum field theory, quantum optics, and other related subjects.
Selected papers will be published after the conference in the QP-PQ book series.
The working language of the conference will be English and, consequently, all oral presentations and written materials have to be given in English.
You are kindly invited to participate in QP34.
Second information letter will be distributed soon.
E-mail: qp34@mi.ras.ru [2]
Conference website http://qp34.mi.ras.ru [3] will be operating soon.
With best regards and looking forward to see you in Moscow,
The Organizers
Luigi Accardi, Sergei Kozyrev, Alexander Pechen, Igor Volovich.

Workshop "Quantum Markov Semigroups: decoherence and their estimation"

Dear all,
We are pleased to announce the mini-workshop entitled "Quantum Markov Semigroups: decoherence and their estimation" to be held in Genoa (Italy), at the Department of Mathematics, from June 26th to June 28th 2013 .
The workshop will be focused on the discussion of the state of the art and open problems on decoherence and quantum tomography in particular for quantum Markov semigroups arising in the open quantum system approach.
The website for the conference is now available at the address
http://anarm.dima.unige.it/QMS2013/index2.html
where in particular you can find information about the conference, traveling and lodging.
There will be no registration fee, but we kindly ask all the participants to fill the registration form on the conference website.
Beside the invited talks, there will be a limited number of short contributed talks. If you are interested in giving a contributed talk please provide the requested information in the registration form.
Deadline for contributed talks is fixed on April 30st, 2013.

Best regards,

Raffaella Carbone
Matteo Gregoratti
Emanuela Sasso
Alessandro Toigo

International Conference "Quantum Theory: Reconsiderations and Foundations"

Dear all,
May be you plan to participate in Vaxjo event on quantum foundations, June 2013, in such a case the information in this email will be useful for you.
The next Vaxjo quantum event will consists of

  • A Marcus Wallenberg Symposium "Quantum Theory: Advances and Problems - QTAP" (at Linnaeus University, June 10-13, 2013. Arrival June 9, departure June 14.)
    Webpage: lnu.se/qtap
  • and the satellite workshop: "Quantum Foundations & Quantum Information" - QF&QI (at Linnaeus University, June 10-13, 2013. Arrival June 9, departure June 14.)
    webpage: lnu.se/qfqi

This unusual structure of the event is related to a restriction to the number of participants in Wallenberg Symposium. We have no possibility to have contributed talks at the Symposium, since the excellent (one of the strongest for the last 14 years) team of invited speakers is already very large.
However, one can apply with the contributed paper or poster to the QF and QI workshop, which will take place at the same place and during the same time as the Symposium, with joint lunches and other events, we shall also try to plan the event in such a way that talks will not interfere.
Hence, those who want to come to Vaxjo with contributed talks or posters please apply to QF and QI workshop.
I am very sorry that the application forms for both Symposium and workshop are still not ready. Our information section promised me that they will be ready soon.
I shall send additional email to inform that you can start registration.
I hope to see some of you again in Växjö, next June,
all the best,

Andrei Khrennikov, Professor of Applied Mathematics,
International Center for Mathematical Modeling
in Physics, Engineering, Economics, and Cognitive Science
Linnaeus University, Växjö-Kalmar, Sweden

New Book "Quantum Social Science":

Dear all,
Recently a new book on quantum-like modeling, i.e., applications of the math formalism of QM outside of physics (in cognitive science, including modeling of brain functioning, psychology, game theory, finances), was published by Cambridge Press:
